Zanzibar hosts its first national World Autism Awareness Day conference
For the first time, Zanzibar marked World Autism Day with a national conference, bringing together government, health, education and community leaders under one roof. The gathering reflected ZACSO's commitment to a Zanzibar where persons with autism are understood, accepted, supported and included in every part of society.
Gatherings like this bring the autism community together and show that no family has to walk the journey alone. They are moments to celebrate progress, share knowledge and renew our shared commitment to inclusion.
Zanzibar hosts its first national World Autism Awareness Day conference is part of a wider programme of awareness, early identification, therapy and intervention, inclusive education, family support, capacity building and community outreach led by ZACSO across the islands.
ZACSO extends its sincere gratitude to all partners, volunteers and community members whose support makes this work possible. Together we are building a more inclusive Zanzibar.
